Anyone record their artwork?

I want to make some time-lapse videos of my drawing but the webcam I have is awful. Do I really need to buy a big expensive DSLR to get nice quality on a piece of paper just a couple feet away?

A DSLR isn't going to do shit for you if you have bad lighting. Get some cheap lights and a softbox and if you have even a halfway decent camera it'll look a whole lot better.

Get good lighting and any camera that can into 1080p and have manual focus.

I'd say start with your cellphone timelapse if you have that. Start at the bottom so you have somewhere to go.
