No worries. I think "realistic" has become a synonym for "over-rendered" in a lot of little pockets in the art community and that isn't your fault that it gets misused so often.

The tiny arms kill it a bit I think, making the characters appear more lifeless. They're too small and are just kind of there, not doing anything, making the characters look like toys or something. Even this one >>2836551 just looks like you posed a dolls arms, they don't appear to be doing anything, just kind of laid on top of the guitar.

I'll assume you learned a little more about the hair highlights between Marceline and Bubblegum (the hair in the back being highlighted making it appear to come forward on Marceline - there shouldn't be a highlight there).

I wouldn't call these "realistic" at all, but if you want to improve you could work on your texture detail (e.g., make the skin look more like real skin), and your lighting (e.g., subsurface scattering to Ice King's nose - and remove it from one or both of Rick's and Morty's ears, your light sources aren't coming from behind them; and correct your light-sources in general). Also work on your hairlines, like on Rick and Morty, the hair doesn't actually seem to be connected to their heads because you've drawn them as completely separate objects. Right now you've just got cartoons with fancy rendering, you could improve a lot if you tried to push past that. Try adding actual structural anatomy, maybe change the style of the cartoons entirely.

Keep up the good work, you might make it some day.

These are pretty cool but ice king needs a little more tightening up compared to say LSP.

These are neat though. If you put em together in one photoset and tag em like crazy on tumblr and instagram you might get some traction dude.
