As a beginner when you draw things from imagination there is no shame in using reference. You are not KJG. If you draw a particular subject matter enough you'll integrate it into your visual library no longer needing reference. but >>2836416

Try to sketch something until you reach a point where you don't have the knowledge to continue. Figure out what it is that's stopping you and study it, whatever it may be. Go back to your sketch or do a new one and try to apply what you learned. Repeat.
