I made a really tight schedule for myself. The issue is that I need tons and I mean tons of references to study to sustain me.
I'll post my schedule so you know what I need
http://pastebin.com/RhNEqqcC
So I'd like to ask you if you can list me sites with tons of good references so I can focus on actually drawing instead of constant looking for stuff to draw

CGPeers has a lot of reference packs.

>11 hours of study
my god is that possible?
Jesus OP, what do you do for income?
>>2812333
sakimichan did 17. are you autistic enough to make it in a creative field? find out here https://psychology-tools.com/autism-spectrum-quotient/
sakimichan scored 28, kim jung ji 31, ruan jia? 38
>>2812426
ngmi confirmed :[
>>2812435
i've scored 22 too
>>2812435
Same score. We are almost half auristic
>>2812429
there's a study that came out mid 2016 about autism and creative professionals. it's behind a paywall though
>>2812313
This looks literally insane
>>2812435
Jesus I'm fucked
Hello
>>2812500
hello sakimichan
>>2812333
Its closer to 9:45hrs which is pretty reasonable, specially if you stop yourself to take your breaks properly and you don't stress over your studys after you're done for the day. You should have enough time left to let your mind and body rest. Also weekends, don't work the entire weekend or you're risking a really early burn out .
>>2812435
am I gmi?
>>2812529
wish i was as autistic as you
>>2812313
That schedule is missing reading books but I dont really know where to put them
>>2812313
i'm 70% sure I'm at least a little sperg-y.
regarding the schedule thing, OP it's not necessary to put that pressure on yourself.
Strict schedules are ass, that's coming from someone who tried to do a strict schedule, failed multiple times at it, and is still somehow 'making it' doing game art.
drawing 30-40 hours a week should be more than enough to get good in a few years, unless you're one of those people where drawing just doesn't click at all.
Dont be mindless with practicing and you'll be fine.
I dont know of a single pro artist who successfully managed to schedule every minute and stick to it.
Generalizations are better.
My rough schedule is more like:
- wake up, eat/coffee. start doodling or do quick studies to warm up
- Client work (depends on how much there is, usually ~3-5 hours a day. sometimes way more if its a tough deadline)
- free time for a few hours
- Personal work/study
- bed
on average I still draw 5-10 hours depending, but i don't schedule exactly how long I should be doing something.
I take breaks when I need them and minimize distractions.
this article might help, it's similar to how I prioritize

>>2812562
that explains my reimu shitposting...
am I gmi?
>>2812313
What I did for my scheduel was that each day of the week was dedicated to a certain aspect of art. Either pure anatomy, still lifes, imaginative drawing and illustration etc. This way you got some variaty. Ofc I had several days were i worked on the same stuff where I found I was lacking the most. I don't know how productive it is to cram in everything in one day, and if its sustainable. I belevie its a bit hard to switch focus every hour to a hole new thing. Its hard to really do any deep learning.
But this might depend on your personality.
>>2812586
you could be one of the greats
>>2812574
okay, thanks
>>2812426
only got 26
tfw im not autistic enough
Yeah, go and use a reference. Then when you're done using the reference, try to draw something from imagination that is 10x easier than your reference was and you won't be able to do it
Don't use references they don't get you better
>>2812645
Its useless to draw from imagination if you dont have fundamentals. I know that too well.
Anyone got good refs for color studies?
>>2812426
So I have the potential to reach Kim Jung Ji level?
does anyone know how to make yourself more autistic?
>>2812772
Isolation for long periods of time. Like days and weeks at a time.
>>2812426
>Ruan Jia doesn't like social interactions
>hosts an event at a bar
For what reason?
>>2812782
helps with his social anxiety i imagine
>>2812426
I don't really know how to answer questions about work, friends, social situations and going outside, because I don't do or have any of those things.
>>2812435
This explains a lot
>>2812855
you barely made the cut, but welcome between us
>>2812435
well boys, i'm fuckin retarded
Is it possible to do drawing for 16 hours? I dont mean studying, because its obviously not possible, but drawing?
>>2812876
What exactly would make it impossible? If you're not requiring productive work I'm sure anyone could draw for sixteen hours if they had to
>>2812897
Well I dont want it to be mindless but at the same time it cant be a focused study, because you cant use your brain that much. I'd like to draw for a long period of time knowing that it helps me somehow.
>>2812777
Hahaha that explains the 40 score I got.
Used to be a normie then I spent 6 months in total isolation
>>2812902
You can draw that long, but you'll tire out and probably not want to. I'm sure you can work it up and get used to it, but that would require dedication. Is it that worth it to you to be able to draw for sixteen hours? I'm already feeling done after like 8. Your body starts to hurt after a certain time too.
>>2812919
>used to be a normie
you ll never become a true autist. You have to be born like that.
let the autism fuel me.
>>2812313
Has anyone in the history of art ever gotten good by following an autism schedule instead of just drawing as much as they can and focusing on whatever they need to at the time?
>>2812426
I got 19.
I imagine most of those points are my schizoid symptoms overlapping with aspergers symptoms.
Anyway the only way I can see being an aspie helping art is how they can be completely obsessed with a single subject and they always want a rigid structure.
If that subject happens to be drawing or painting then they'd go full autism study mode.
Though there's probably a pretty good chance of an autist artist getting stuck into a comfort zone and not branching out and experimenting with subject matter that doesn't fall under their aspie obsession. Sakimi-chan comes to mind, granted that she actually does have aspergers.
i draw as bad as a toddler, do you guys still think i can make it? i quit my job next month and have 6 months to learn how to get good.
>>2813507
Post blog and I'll follow your journey to making it.
>>2813529
toddlers don't have blogs
>>2812426
Im the next kim jung ji
8^))
>>2812457
Can you link to it or remember its name? I'll get past the paywall and put it on dropbox or something.
>>2812313
finding suitable reference, amongst a lot of other shit, is a sizable part of every illustrator's work that NEVER is considered at /ic/
You better get used to spend hours finding that by yourself: that knoledge will become really handy in your future
>>2813507
Dude you scored 41. Of course youre gonna make it, 41!
>>2813747
real illustrator draw from memory, not from refence
>>2812426
how old is sakimichan?
>>2812435
also 22.
>>2812313
I can never maintain a super planed out schedule. I prefer to just work on whatever I feel like I'm weak in. Schedule will change so much it isn't worth making one.
>>2812426
30/50. I don't like social situations, can't maintain a conversation worth a crap, and small talk makes me want to take a drill to my temple. But I can read emotions and shit so I am not totally socially retarded. And all the obsessing over numbers and dates and shit is totally not me.
>>2812313
OP here, after some experimenting I can say that a big schedule like myself is too tiresome. I'd rather do less stuff and move on after that than do everything and get not that much from that.
My question is: let's say I want to draw heads, do a quick sketch, do a sight size piece and a value study tomorrow, what would be the best order for me to not get too tired and do everything the best way possible?
>>2813923
>real illustrators
