This is going to be the first time I do online commissions. How much should I charge for something the pic related? I don't want to overcharge and drive away any potential business, but at the same time I want to make a good profit.
I'm not even sure if anyone would buy anything from me, desu.

*something like the pic related
>>2799124
$5 sketch
$7 color
$10 full with bg
Increase/Decrease price according to demand.
>>2799146
for 5$ you can sell your autograph, dont be ridiculous
See how much it takes you to draw that, multiply by lowest acceptable hourly wage, then charge more than that and never go lower under any circumstances.
If nobody wants to pay you, tough shit, git gud and attract an audience while gitting gud.
>>2799146
Never do this shit
>>2799124
$50+ per hour
>>2799146
Fuck that shit
>>2799146
Might as well just work at mcdonalds if this is what you're gonna charge.

t. Deviantart fetish artist.
>>2799146
eat shit
>>2799124
Seems good enough to not charge exactly minimum wage, unless you take forever. 15 an hour seems a good starting point to adjust as you go.
how do you arrange commisions? do you get money first or do you just do your stuff for free because someone doesnt pay at the end lel

>hey kid want some loomis
>>2799146
No.

The concept of an hourly wage applying to commission work is new to me. I'm pretty sure the image in the OP took me around 2-3 hours to complete, but I'll try drawing another piece while timing myself to see how that'll work out.
>>2799232
I've never done online commissions, but when I do them in person I would take a portion of the price before starting and collect the rest when I'm done.

>take a portion of the price before starting and collect the rest when I'm done.
Seconding this. You can also do 1/3 up front, 1/3 at final revisions, and 1/3 on finished product if you do something like concept art

Good list you can apply to commissions

Doing commissions knowing that someone can just take your work for free makes this whole shit a lot harder. I am not going to put myself into some tax bullshit with contracts or shit like that, I wanted to do low key stuff.
>>2799124
Something around 80$ if your clients are millenials without money.
May be 50$ (if you are sure you not popular and your clients are poorfags)
>>2799267
> I am not going to put myself into some tax bullshit with contracts or shit like that
Uhhh... anon, taxes have nothing to do with contracts, are you 12? Most payment platforms (including paypal) are obligated to report your income to your government, you should be paying taxes contract or no contract
>>2799267
If you make $1000+/year you have to file taxes.
>>2799301
You can make simple contracts man. Short and sweet and legally binding so they can't just bail on you without at least paying a cancellation fee.
>>2799311
what do you mean by simple
>>2799312
It means not complex, you dumb faggot
>>2799124
Maybe 30-35$, if there's a complex dress/cloth pattern, you could increase price as you get more clients, but start from here
>>2799281
>that webm
Thanks for the laugh man
happy new year
>>2799361
thanks for the useless info you fucking retard
if your target is artsy internet people then maaaybe 30$. but probably theres not much business if youre not popular. but also probably no more profit to be made by lowering prices either. commissions is really about audience, sorry dude
80-100 is a joke unless youre aiming at irl plebs or something who dont know you can commission actually great artists online
>>2799146
It's like you don't want money.
>>2799726
>80-100 is a joke
