Is anyone here upgrading to Art Rage 5 / using Art Rage 4.5? Should I move on to another soft as I am a fucking beginner? Also I just realized the new version won't be on Steam, shit.

I will be using ArtRage 5 (I'm actually working on something currently for their art contest to win a free version). I'm not really a digital painter, but I've used ArtRage on most of my professional work that requires digital output. This piece was done in 4.0.
You should use software you're comfortable with, but it's not really the software that makes the artist, it's daily practice.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'll keep working on 4.5 then, I still have a lot to learn but all the tools are quite comfy desu.
Your work looks pretty cool, do you have a gallery? Also, good luck with that contest!
