Wanted to get at least 1 commission by the end of the year and I haven't gotten any. I think my skill level is okay enough for cheap tumblr/deviant art tier stuff but I haven't made a blog yet. I wanna get better before I make a blog. This was my first year of doing art seriously so I hope by next year I'm at least decent, pretty disappointed with where I'm at atm. Oh and I also wanted tot draw every day of the year which I've done so far, so I guess that's good.

For next year I wanna draw every day, be at least decent at art, and hopefully make a blog + get at least 1 commission.

I think my resolution every year has always been to be a better version of myself and improve in all aspects of my life. Every day I wake up I'd like to be a little bit better than the me that I was yesterday.

draw 8+ hours a day all 365 days. no distractions, canceling all of my accounts that don't have to do with art. i bought a 2017 calendar and am going to use it to write down how many hours i do each day to serve as motivation, i'll use a stopwatch to record the time.

In all honesty I don't see myself getting through the next year. Will probably jump off a bridge. 2016 kicked my ass and I have no motivation to succeed, I take no enjoyment in anything.

If I were to attempt to be more optimistic, I'd say work damn hard for the upcoming Pixar internship, find meds that work and stop being a worthless piece of shit.

Wasn't here last year, but I just want to draw everyday, make a little cash on the side with my work, learn how to properly paint. Finally feels like I can legitimately succeed with those things instead of letting life get in the way.

Not that guy, but technically you could work a full time job and still draw 8 hours a day. You could easily do it working part time.

I've made a tumblr, but I've been putting off posting things fretting about stupid shit.

Getting a drawing tablet for christmas. I want to git gud at drawing digital art.

what's a good job I can get that's part time like a couple of hours a week maybe $400 a month or so? I can't find anything that doesn't seem soul crushing. I still want to have enough life energy to be able to put my max effort into learning art each day.

Art wise I haven't accomplished much at all this year except get back into it after four years of not drawing. So I guess that's a start.

My resolution is to start painting digitally and get better at drawing mechanical stuff

My 2017 resolution:

Ended up doing 3-8 hrs a day, good goal old me.
I have 3 main ones this year, 1: Try to make 8 hrs the average of hours spent every day, probably not doable but we'll see.
2: Get better at painting portraits.
3: Unlearn anime.
Going to focus on number 3 since I think it's hindering my ability to improve by quite a lot.

Last year I tried my best to get my ass back into classrooms (as I left uni years ago). Funny thing is, I didn't managed to get back as a student, but as a teacher in a small art class every week.

For 2017, I want to get my work published.

I'm going to be as good as Kim Jung Gi

Last year I draw nearly every day, but I misspent my time and got a wrist injury.

2017 I'm much more well prepared. Right about finished with lecture set 9 of Olson's perspective material. I'll be able to reread and work through most of Robertson's stuff as the year closes.

So it's... Use the perspective stuff I've been learning, aim straight for figure drawing and working on head construction.

And rendering and painting/coloring. I have a nasty habit of not finishing artwork because I don't think it's good enough to finish. This year I'll get in on that.

I have like... a year or two left of time before everything collapses in my life to get adequate enough at drawing to say I can actually do it.

1. Draw a lot from life. A lot. Fill a ton of sketchbooks with life drawing
2. Be better each day than I was on the previous one. It worked for 2016, I'm keeping it up.
3. Buy a Kim Jung Gi book and build an altar around it.
