Is there a guide to buying a monitor that displays colours and values accurately? I'm looking at IPS monitors, wondering about pricing and brandnames.
Most IPS/PLS/AHVA/etc panels from the more popular brands should be similar. Look at BenQ, Dell, Asus, Viewsonic, etc. You should be looking at anything between $300-450 for a good quality 27" 1440p monitor.
I asked this last time and people would only argue about other shit.
Is the dell U2715H a good monitor -_-
I've been using a Dell U2311H since its release and it's breddy good.
Man I got a new monitor and it fucking hurts my eyes to look at it for longer than 10 minutes.

Yes. Or you could save yourself $100 and go for the BenQ GW2765HT.

>BenQ GW2765HT.
>80% adobe rgb
Eh, could be worse.

You're not going to get a 27" wide-gamut monitor for anywhere near that price. The BenQ should have better color out of the box than the Dell, but desu most good monitors in that range will be so close that it doesn't matter.

It wasn't really a complaint. That covers enough neon green for most needs and anyone getting anything ready for print has a mac.

hey that actually looks pretty good. i'm considering it.

Anon do you have this monitor??? My main issue with my current monitor is the fact that it's a very glossy surface. This means that I have to work in absolute darkness to avoid any glare, and even then when I'm painting a very dark scene I basically have my own face inside a mirror all the time. This has absolutely killed my eyesight and I can't wait to get rid of this pos DELL S27somethingsomething that's basically a high tech mirror.
Is your BenQ suggestion glare-free?

I have the BL2710PT, which is a more expensive monitor but has the same panel. It has a semi-glossy anti-glare coating. I think it's a good compromise since it's not too grainy like the coating in the older Ultrasharp models. I have a window directly behind me that will cause glare when it's open during daytime, but otherwise it's completely fine.

a bit topic related, are there monitors which don't kill your eyes?
mine start hurting after sitting few hours in front of any screen

Look for a monitor with no PWM flicker. Some monitors also have low blue light modes that you can turn on when you're not doing anything that requires color accuracy. Also lower your brightness if you have it high up there, especially if you're in a dark room.
