What's the most effective way to get good at perspective as fast as possible?

practice it from easy and hard. steadily getting more difficult the more your practice.

His How to Draw book covers perspective extensively

his book you dingus.

Dont just study perspective, apply it too. It doesnt matter if its to city scenes or a single character illustration, but apply what you're learning . It shouldnt have to be said, but /ic/ has this obsession with studying at the expense of application

everything recommended here is good. Another method I'd suggest would be to learn to draw sight-size, then find something with a lot of perspective stuff going on, and draw it, but instead of going into values, do it all in line and 'construct' the edges of forms.
Then, after, get a big 'ol ruler with some colored pencils and reverse-engineer the construction process. Don't half-ass it, do it according to the scott robertson methods/rules. This way, for funky weird forms/shapes and off-kilter stuff, you'll learn how to approach it when you need to make it up.
No question thread is up so I'll ask here, are these the best ways to create perspective grids in photoshop?

Use a ruler.
Remember the one rule: all parallel lines converge at the same vanishing point. boom. instant mastery.

>draw sight-size
Stupid question, but what does that mean?

ggrks

So it just means drawing things in 1:1 proportion?

To get good at perspective you study and practice.
>get good as fast as possible
You don't.

edline it then or show some of your awesome perspective so I don't make that mistake.

Look at the roof of the cathedral as it compares to the back wall of the cathedral. Perspective on the wall is fucked.

The perspective is so off and sloppy in this. Redlining anything with a lot of perspective means fixing every single line in the whole thing which I'm not about to do. But here's the gist of it.
>>2770616
>knows even less about perspective
>redlines
>>2770646
The grid is fine other than the left VP being a bit close, it was just too much work to go in and change every single line in the thing.
>>2770648
> the grid is fine
No it's not retard.

POST UR WORK
>>2770661
First off, rude. Second off, it is, I just immediately lost interest in my paintover when I realized how time consuming and ultimately pointless it would be. I should have just not posted it but whatever.
>>2770666
As tedious as this meme is I will do it because you got trips.
>>2770616
>>2770616
hahahahaha oh wow
>>2770616
the artist used curvelinear perspective you idiot. Obviously a straight line grid won't fit the drawing.
>>2770671
only part that looks off to me is the rafters at the very top where it gets super distorted
>>2770841
also just noticed, we should be seeing more of the facing side of the wall jutting out on the right, right now looks like it's constructed at an angle to the other walls
>>2770616
>>2770829
>>2770824

Ok maybe I was unclear, the redlines were not supposed to show what perspective the artist used, but what would look slightly more natural. The VPs are crowded to close to the picture making everything look very distorted. Regardless of it being a huge waste of time I did go through and do a rudimentary paintover, but there's just so much wrong with it that I might as well have started from scratch. For the record it is not done in curvilinear perspective, the artist is just incapable of drawing a straight a line which made the fixes take even longer. Either that or the crowded VPs give it a wide angle lense appearance.
>>2770865
the whole point of the close VPs (it IS supposed to be a wide angle lens) is to show the whole space in one image, presumably as concept art
no one looking at concept art is really worried about perspective
>>2770871
Doesn't make sense to have a wide angle lense on a vertical composition (Unless your VP's are on the vertical axis). I don't think this piece was concept art.
>>2770876
I think it does in this case, when the verticality is important but also giving a sense of the whole interior
