fun with a pencil is good for an introduction to simple construction and forms. it's meant to break symbol drawing habits. it's literally made for beginners. If you do the exercises and don't be one of the idiots who literally just copies bloke faces straight out of the book you should do fine with that.
drawing the head & hands and figure drawing for all its worth have a bit more bite to them.

Could I start with the figure drawing/faces one, or would it really best to begin with fun with a pencil? Don't mind if they're a bit "harder"

Fun with a pencil is okay for absolute beginners, Mr. Armenian genocide denier.

"Fun with Pencil" is awful, better go straight to "Drawing the Head & Hands" and "Figure Drawing For All Its Worth" and if you feel you need more after those, go for "Creative Illustration". Everything else can and should be skipped.

I feel like I might be later, I ave been copying the faces because I don't think the book has explained how to draw original faces using the methods, at least not as far as I have read.

I can draw decent, not just "symbol drawing".
