How does one break free of the Sight-Size method after having done it for so long?
>All I want to draw is disgusting furry shota for dosh on the side while I slowly perfect good figure drawing.

Do you know how much those shitters pay for that stuff? You can make bank off them since most of them are tech bros with money to toss away for depravity.

How much? Asking for a friend

I too am working towards the dream of milking said niche.
Watch some vilppu videos and do master studies of your favorite kemoshota artists.

Pretty general idea of pricing and honestly somewhat low considering popularity, although if you do auctions and YCHs, you can pull over 400 a piece.

CobaltSynapse charges just around 100 for a sketch, he can belt those out in 1-2 hours so it's not bad.
The guy working on Anubis and The Buried Bone charges a fuckton(don't have exact number, he's closed for commissions and has no price list) but still gets inquiries all the time.
Wolfblade seldom takes them, instead he does "slave streams" where he'll draw whatever you want for 3-5 hours, charging a minimum of like 200/300 per session?

if fart porn and diapers is harmless cute to you then go for it buddy
>>2761920
You can tell people you won't draw baby fur/diaper BS or scat/fart fetish stuff and still get tons of inquiries for commissions. Wolfblade is probably the best western artist to look into for furry shota stuff, he doesn't do any extreme stuff but his commission slots are always full.

It takes like 2 years minimum to have the visibility to make that much. I mean you can get commissions before that, but regularity and the illusion of prodigious output that comes with 2 years worth of work is what gets the big bux deposited into your account. It boils down to having a portfolio of completed examples and some kind of name recognition.

You have to be willing to do some work in that niche for a bit before you develop the following/reputation to generate a steady stream of money, but when you get to that point you're pretty set unless you fuck up your reputation.
As bad as furries are, they're great for making money off of, they love having their special snowflake rainbow tiger/dog striking a generic pose or having sex with another furry/mascot/popular anthro character, and since most of them are in tech/medical fields they have the cash to blow on this shit pretty often.

Make it known you won't draw certain things(And list them) and you won't have to worry about people asking you to draw them. If anyone does, you ignore them.

what is the sight size method?
>>2761940
I want in on the print and trad art market. I'm curios how much the originals on the top go for.

I only have an instagram atm. @CJ_The_Conqueror
still, whats the sight size method?
>>2762262
Drawing what you see at the size you see it.
>>2762262
you draw things using 1:1 measurements from your eye to the paper
>>2762266
ohhh. Shit I need to look into that I kinda have that habit
Anyone else have further advice on breaking free of sight-size so you can actually draw stuff from your imagination and not always rely on a photo/model?
>>2762418
Learn construction
>>2762418
Learn gesture
Read up on bridgman.
I dunno, the blocky shapes seem to harmonize with the straight line construction method that usually accompanies the sight size method. Just look at bargue's block in sketches and you might see similarities.
Read guide to life drawing then constructive anatomy.
If that's too "dry" or whatever look at Huston's book then Hampton's book.
I dunno- just rely on what you've learned so far and trust your instincts. Just remember proportion, form, perspective, and gesture.

Just a comparison
