Explain me this:

You learn to draw, which is very tedious, frustrating and requires a lot of time. You have to pay a lot of money if you want any significant support and teaching. Then you still have to do a lot of job yourself if you want to improve to the point where it matters.

And after all of this there's still a huge risk that you won't get any work and you will starve.

So why do people draw again for money? I don't honestly believe you put your life on stake just because you like to draw. Passion is fun and cool but it's just too much man. It's seems like a shady kind of a business.
>>
>You learn to draw, which is very tedious, frustrating

Well that's just like, your opinion

With that said, no one should go into it expecting to sustain themselves from art alone

The reason people do it anyway is because they are young and naive

Learning to draw is not hard. Learning to make good pieces is.
everything good takes effort. Or else I would be sitting on my life for eternity
>>
>>2756015
Anon, dedicating yourself to learning anything to a degree to where you can make money off of it is taking a risk, some being more or less risky than others. If it's something that you don't wanna pursue then just don't do it.
>>
>>2756055
I am just wondering why would anyone take such risks when not only there is a huge competition but also learning is so fucking tiresome
>>
>>2756057
You need to take risks to make it. There's just a lot of people doing it at the moment.

Some people like learning. Looking back every month or so and seeing how certain aspects of my art have improved is a feelsgoodman.
>>
>>2756057
Because just like you may like to do something, others like to do art. They get more than just money out of it.
>>
>>2756073
You are saying it like I dont like doing art. I do like it, its just very unreliable, even schools are bad as fuck because of a crippling debt. It seems like a work without any reward besides your own satisfaction.

>why would people try so hard in something difficult to be good at something they're passionate about to make it they're career?
>"Passion is fun and cool but it's just too much man."
You clearly have no idea what it's like being passionate about something. Being passionate isn't a synonym for having a passing interest.

Money isn't the end goal, man. Happiness is.

People draw because they think it will make them happy.
>>
>>2756123
And how are you going to get money needed to sustain your life? You can get a job but then you have no time for real drawing
>>
>>2756125
>And how are you going to get money needed to sustain your life?

Porn commissions . 500 USD goes a long way in my third world shithole.
>>
>>2756126
Getting into porn industry takes a lot of time, you have to
>learn to draw porn really fucking good
>know people
>find a way to sell it to them

>you have to learn to draw porn really fucking good
Also, it's not fucking rocket science to market porn.

Here's a tip to get you started in your porn career.
Make a free character on WoW in the most popular RP server, sit around in popular erp areas and just say you're an artist willing to do anything, even /d/ shit.
There are even add-ons for WoW rp so characters see bios on you. Just say you're an artist in it and then you can even afk while interested people pm you.

your pic is a meme. I really doubt someone would pay that much money unironically. Even for autistic furries standards
>>
>>2756140
Sorry, I only have that picture of the auction saved.
I'm sure someone has a picture of the finished thing.
Someone pays Shadman 400 bucks a month, every month. for a commission and even that shitty furry artist is better then Shad.
>>
>>2756145
Does it really take Shad 20 hours to do a commission or does he really rate his time at the same level as a doctor...
>>
>>2756146
Probably longer than 20 hours. You do not seem to have a good concept of how long it takes to make a professional, finished work of art.
>>
>>2756160
I suppose animators do not make professional finished works of art according to you ?

Looking at Shad's pieces... If he's really, REALLY slow, yes.

A single picture, even with the massive amount of post processing shit he does would take about 5-12 hours, depending on complexity.

He probably just charges that because he's carved a very nice niche for himself and has a distinctive style (even if his fundamentals are garbage).

Because if i have hopes of not turning into a 7-4 workday normie. When all my life holds is that i'm going to kill myself.
>>
>>2756057
Same reason why there are professional athletes, musicians, composers, authors etc. Some people are simply less domesticated and more passionate than you are, so they take risks to follow their dreams.
>>
>>2756197

7-4? Wasn't it 9-5? Is shit getting worse?

Man I'm glad that my life won't be that, phew.

Ahahahaha
Bad is not a style

minimum wage in my country is currently $40 a month so I can live off of it

>for money

Well. That was quick.
>>
>>2756015
I wanna just room with a couple of other artists, split rent and utilities and just spend like 10 years constantly producing content.
