Between working out, sketching/painting and my dumb volunteer gig I haven't managed to play videogames in a while.

Which sucks, because I like them, but every time I go to play like, Summon Night or Sin and Punishment there's just that thought that I should be banging out sketchbook stuff or a new painting in the back of the head.

Anyway videogames or general leisure isn't the devil or anything. But if you're incapable of balancing your life, I suppose cutting them out will do you good.

Kinda pointless if you still browse 4chan and other sites that offer quick distractions/short burst satisfaction. A friend of mine once tried to quit all media only to end up browsing shit like 4chan and youtube.

Being able to deal with your boredom in a productive way is really some high tier skill skill. Though there is a good chance that you do some really shitty practice/study when you just use drawing as a tool to get distracted when you have nothing else to do. Like doodling and the kind of mindless scribbling.

Yes. As said above. Quitting video games and not being on guard for how much time you waste on the internet is the same.

Try doing the same as I did, get some extensions or addons that block all images, or site blockers, add a password that is just random letters so you don't unblock anything again. Extensions are easy to go around, but for me symbolic measurements are all that is needed for me to be psychologically controlled.

Videogames are easy, just install any linux OS.

I come here about 10 minutes every other day because I can't find any place like this and my ever present shitpost urge.

Then I picked an old sketchbook and found myself back at drawing.
3 hours after work, 5 if it's friday, and 12 to 14 on saturdays and sundays.
I'll probably burn myself out of drawing anyway.

Over time, the short gains of entertainment from videogames will be eaten up by the growing regret that comes with age of not working hard enough in your youth and trying to make up for lost time.
