HOW DO I GET PAID FOR COMMISSIONS WITHOUT ASSOCIATING ANY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION WITH WHATEVER ABOMINATIONS I MIGHT PRODUCE FOR DEPRAVED INTERNET DEGENERATES?

Basically you just create an alias and don't have opinions.

Just think of some random catchy/easy to remember name like "SpiralFace"

If you have opinions/speak too much it will attract annoying followers/stalkers/feminists/sjw's and you typically don't want that especially if you're going really hardcore with your art. It will cause trouble, just make art/money and shut up.
>>
Figured this would be a good place to ask rather than starting another thread: What's the general etiquette/best practices for commissions? Dude randomly asked me if he could commission me for work and I've admittedly never done one before. Like things to ask, get paid, etc. Not looking to make a huge living off of this or anything, just pay for lunch a few times a month or something.

What if I wanna appeal to the (((alt-right))) and attract the attention of SJWs, Do I just be really really vocal and offensive in my work? Does this actually work in terms of getting attention?

How much work are you willing to do?
For a one time commission gib yourself far higher than minimum wage.
4 hours of work? 60+.

I've thought about doing comissions online as well, but I no longer care for sites such as deviantart or furaffintiy anymore. Too many strange fetishes. What are your options if you want to sell your art, but don't want to do online comissions for people?
>>
tfw you only draw on paper with pens, so even if you wanted to do online comisions, you cant.

Experienced degenerate artist here. Become and absolute stone. Take nothing but commissions as serious. Comments made, questions asked, trolls, opinionated women, fans and even the compliments you receive are going to remain foreign and left in the dust to you save for an occasional "thank you". Do not act like a man. Do not act like a woman. Do not post anything that isn't related to your artwork on your blog including videos, opinions, likes, dislikes, politics, absolutely nothing. All you are is a stone, an unmovable statue, a monument to mans sin. The mystery will only make your fans like you more and want to commission you because they'll feel comfortable asking you what they want.
Get a portfolio going, more pieces is better and will enable you to charge more because it shows you can churn out art and will provide your audience with the "Style" they're looking for. Charge what you think is acceptable and if your work reflects it, people will buy. The worse stuff you can charge a "sin tax" for and most people who commission will understand (especially if you're actually good at the trade). Just be firm with your pricing unless you're commissioned something a bit obscure that requires some negotiation. As for attracting SJW's, just refer to above about being a stone.
A lot of the time though, people just like sketches and inkwork. Don't do sketches, it's a waste of time and money, and you're only asking for trouble when it comes to incomplete work. You want big ticket items.
For paintings, depending on complexity and price will include 2 to 3 simple sketches with half payment, then the commissioner chooses and comments on things he wants changed, then he pays you the rest and you finish. Same goes for inkwork. Do not ever work on anything until money is in your possession, including sketches. And do complete the work in a timely and specified manner. Do not make a habit of dragging the deadline out as it will catch wind.
Post your art too, please.

I hope I will become as professional of a degenerate as you senpai.

No, you want to seem innocuous and "convertible" but outspoken. Attracts them like flies to shit.

Political art always sells the least. People usually consume art for escapism, not for political propaganda.

Don't listen to those losers, OP.

Adoptables

The only catch is that they sell well in DA and FA

Awesome, thanks dude!

Follow-up question for ya:

The dude asked me to draw a character that I'm 99% certain isn't his, and I think I know who drew it (that sho-n-d guy on tumblr). I haven't been able to find the original posting, so I don't know if it's an original character or not?

Anyway, I guess my thing is that I feel weird about drawing someone's potential donut steal without them knowing, even though I'd be comfortable drawing some other character I obviously don't own (like if someone wanted me to draw a Batman or whatever the fuck) and I don't know if I should turn it down or not.

>>2731005
Oh, I guess I should mention that they don't want anything explicit in this case. Just a kinda-sexy-character.
>>
Checks sent to a p.o. box is what I do.

I send the WIPs until they like the overall construction, pose, etc. Then they send a check, it cashes, I finish the final thing a couple days after that and send it to them. Simple, and I get to avoid commissions requested by dumb teens because they don't even know what a check is at this point.

I don't do porn, but I don't see why this wouldn't work for that just as well.

Get a cheap scanner, pirate software. Done.
>>
>>2728396
This is a good thread, OP. Good question that I never thought I'd need to know the answer to
>>
>>2731027
Do you think checks only might get in the way of people commissioning you? Personally I don't even have a checkbook.
>>
>>2729079
good post
>>
>>2729079
saved, thanks based degenerate
>>
>>2731005
just go for it, if for some reason the original creator of the character finds out, they'll be upset with the person who spent money on the commission, not the artist who took a job
