First tablet but probably won't switch for a long time. Confused between the Huion GT-190 or a wacom intuos pro medium. For just a little bit more, you get a fully functioning screen tablet that's affordable. So what gives?

Don't assume something is better just because it costs more. You may not need a screen tablet, that's something that tends to come down to preference. A regular intuos pro forces better posture, which is going to be more comfortable when drawing for hours on end, unless you're used to drawing by holding your arm up.
the intuos pro is very responsive and offers great traction. I don't know whats the case for this tablet but if you're not buying a wacom you'll usually want to check what's the screen made of, how laggy it is. whether the pen needs batteries or not. There could be a big gap between the glass and the screen too. Drivers are a big deal also. A wacom will work out of the box with anything. It has to, it's the leading brand.

I would quite honestly just get an Intuos pro, anything version that isn't the small one. Trying out cintiq alternatives is more for when you already have a solid tablet you can rely on and it wouldn't be a total disaster for you if it ends up being a shitty product.

I see, thanks so much for that explanation. Definitely gonna look into an intuos

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
