Any tips for cleaner linework?
I just realized one way to get myself to not press down so hard is to use a mechanical pencil with a bunch of lead exposed, it keeps breaking but even after 2 hours im starting to feel like i now notice when my hand is tensing up.
Still a big struggle to not draw 12 scratchy lines when one or two or three could have done tho.. Any simple tips?

Draw from the shoulder more so there's less wrist flicking involved and try to get longer smoother lines.
Alternatively draw with either a fine liner pen or a fat marker. Either one will look like shit if you go over the line more than once or twice so you will be forced to be efficient and think before putting down each mark. They also have no "opacity" but are bold and black if the pen even barely touches the page, so you can't do a bunch of light lines either to try to get around it.

i was thinking pens make sense but it does get hard as hell when im trying to do reily abstractions on the head for example and i dont hit huge ovals perfectly. But its wortht it. maybe ill do every other day with pens only
just use pencil like a brush, draw lines so softly they connect into each other nicely, you can push down harder when you draw over it
