I paid about $250.00 for this painting a couple years ago.
I still love it but what do you all think ?
>>
>>2718568
I think you should gesso and paint over it.
>>
>>2718568
its pretty bad desu. Looks like dude just made random strokes with pure black paint. The rest of the colors are really thinned out. Also what is this on? looks like a canvas board. I would buy this for a like a dollar, just cause I would gesso over it and reuse it.
>>
>>2718574
Yeah, very thin smooth board.
>>
>>2718568
I like it. It has character and expression in the way it was painted. A good piece.
>>
>>2718694
Thx. I really enjoy it.
I took a lot of hours for the guy to make. Lots of layers that are a lot more complex than others are seeing..
>>
>>2718711
>Lots of layers that are a lot more complex than others are seeing..
this is such a flawed attitude
>>
>>2718711
If you don't think people on /ic/ are able to "see" whatever you're seeing, why do you even ask...
>>
>>2718734
To get a benchark of how full of shit these people are and if they actually know what the hell they're talking about.
>>
>>2718574
Did you even have the foggiest observation that this was an abstract painting of an attic?
Not just random black strokes of a brush.
>>
>>2718748
Sorry brah. Gotta stick to the fundies, this is some a mess to me. I see what you mean, but looks like some bs assignment a art student rushed to turn it.
>>
>>2718748
holy shit anon now I can see it too, still not worth 200 I'd say but this isn't just abstract trash either.

feeling like the ladder going up into the attic and its surrounding are a notch above the rest of the attic since it reads much clearer

Try using this as a reference.
I personally don't care if noone likes it, just as long as they have an understanding of it..
>>
>>2718741
>to get a benchmark of how much people here cater to my shit taste and if they know how to suck cock
you will find we are quite bad at that OP
>>
>>2718777
Na, you're just a bunch of scared kids who find bravery by talking shit they don't know about on the Internet.
I don't care if you don't like my tastes but I don't respect opinions from posers that act like they know what they're talking about.

>>
>>2718785
Nope, I'm indifferent. No emotional sway from users on 4chan. Just observational rebuttals.
>>
>>2718769
I definitely respect not wanting to pay that much for it. Obviously I have a thing for attics... I didn't mind the price thought for original Artwork. But I understand someone else not paying that for it.
>>
>>2718711
>>2718783
The funny thing is that you've got it backwards. You know how bad art looks good to the untrained eye? That's what you're experiencing. Simply overlapping a bunch of different perspectives and broken geometrical shapes doesn't make it good.
>>
>>2718791
Have you ever seen anything like this?
I'm not suggesting that this is for everyone but it's still very good.
I enjoy the color scheme, focal point and the atmosphere. And there's a lot to discover as start to dissect the layering.
I personally have a lot of interest when I look at this.
>>
>>2718568
Oil?
>>
>>2718798
Yes, but very delicate. Scratches too easily. My main gripe is the smooth board that was used . I don't even clean it.
>>
>>2718797
>Have you ever seen anything like this?
Yes, about a million times. It's a very easy thing to replicate. You simply create two or three points for perspective and draw the lines out from there, then you randomly connect them at odd angles. Put some color on the sides of the "beams" if you want to enhance the depth effect.
>>
>>2718801
Show me one ....

Hell, I might even buy it ..
>>
>>2718801
I've looked for a long time to try and find something that resembles this and haven't found it.
Go ahead, I'll wait.
>>
>>2718803
bruh, why you protecting this turd so hard. We get it you're some sort of know it all intellectual who somehow feels and understands the emotions that the artist put with each stroke. You enter his mind as you feel the colors rushing through your veins and erects your dong as you keep shit posting.
>>
>>2718809
Nothin better to do I suppose .. ?
>>
Anon why?

You could've spent that money on cheap beginner art books and supplies. Potentially do better art than the guy who ripped you off.

Why buy such a trashy thing?
>>
>>2718568
if you like it and think it was worth the price then who cares what someone else thinks
>>
>>2718830
Honestly, it's a one of a kind and I just wanted to share.
>>
>>2718846
OP outs himself as the 'artist' in question.
>>
>>2718857
Oh no - I have no artistic talents what so ever. I can barely draw a straight line with a ruler, and that's no exaggeration ..
>>
>>2718862
Yes, it is.
>>
>>2718818
because he thinks he's intellectual for putting meaning into strokes that someone put no thought into aside from making it look like it's worth something

be glad someone like op isn't running a country
>>
>>2718862
I think you're willingly over-estimating the amount of talent that went into the picture. But never mind, if you like it, that's okay. You don't have to defend your choices in home decoration.

I like that painting, seems pretty dynamic to me.

if the only reason you go online is to troll people without contributing to any discussion, fucking kill yourself. just take two forks and stick them in your eyes, then scissor your neck open

you´re lucky nobody´s going after you when you post these things. you´re lucky i´m not taking the IP address and killing your whole family for forgetting what respect is.
>>
>>2719021
Calm the fuck down OP holy shit hahahaha
>>
>>2718748
>attic
>abstract
It merely has a few lines that comply with perspective, it could be actually anything
>>
>>2718568
I enjoy it.
It's worth at least 200 just for the labor cost alone.
Is it signed? Have you checked up on what the artist is doing now? Might be worth more today
>>
>>2718568
I'm gonna take the bait and tell you to neck yourself. You walk in here thinking your smarter then everyone justifying and defending a piece of dog shit for what purpose? Don't project your buyers remorse on us faggot.

is it anime breasts? if it isn't score caps out at 2/10 here

What these guys said if this isnt a troll.
If you like then that is all that matters, but I think there was some other intent to this post. You put it on a forum of largely representational painters. Whom most of which don't care about abstract art.

I like. it has a semi perspective, I see a double step up to a bedroom with wardrobes on the left and looking down a hall way on the right.

Where is it hung? which room?

You clearly haven't looked very hard into art yourself, have you? Easily manipulated "art fans" like yourself are why elitism can thrive in the art world of today.

You paid 250 for a bunch of strokes in vague perspective? This is worth slightly less than the materials spent making it
