The emphasis on both subtle form and major lines is a bit offputting, but I like it all the same.

Yeah, especially on his early years in SNES/SEGA Genesis covers. But I think from his early Capcom-era (CVS, Final Fight GBA, Psi-Ops) digital work, his shading is the shit. And nowadays, I like his style even better, it mixes his proportions with more Tatsunoko lines on the characters.

Not Capcom, but it's /v/ related: Blizzard Entertainment has, in my opinion, very underrated concept art. If I had a working scanner, I'd post a couple of my absolute favourites, but I'll settle with the best one I could find on Google Images.

Blizzard artists know how to create extremelly appealing characters, Overwatch, Warcraft and even Diablo are filled with gorgeous people stylin on the grittybrown graymud tacticool "realism" of other sci-fi and fantasy products. They also have the most appealing cartoony style in videogames ever.

Always liked this one, maybe not the best looking when fully zoomed in but looks great zoomed out a bit (perhaps the hires drawing of the female slut zombie is a better example though). Always feels "clean" to me too which helps with the "I can do that too!" mindset (though I'm still far off).

King of Fighters was my game. It definitely has amazing art, and it's even more stunning that these pictures are made from scratch. Artists hand made all of the KOF characters and in KOF 13 it was obvious that they were very underrated.

Looks like these idiots don't know the difference between concept art and illustration. The image sells the idea and design and fills in the space visually for the 3d modellers, which is all it needs to do. Concept art is also made under tight deadlines but you idiots wouldn't know anything about that because you are not good enough to work in this industry. You lack both skill and personality and work ethic.
