I don't think there's any way around that, especially since perspective is inherently a technical subject. As soon as you get it down though, it becomes significantly easier and can feel more 'organic.'

Yeah, it's something I've started playing around with. I'd like to be able to animate an environment as much as a character or even have the two closely related, but the technical aspect definitely takes out the "life" needed for animating a large mass similar to how you would animate a character. I figured if somebody discovered a more relaxed approach to drawing environments I might be able to tweak that technique a bit for my use.

If you are doing complex architecture then for it to look good you probably need to plot it out and get it somewhat precise. For more general things or for natural environments you can get away with being fairly loose and eyeballing things.
