I've been drawing since middle school and started doing commissions online over the last year or so. I get a couple commissions a month or so, nothing major at all. But I have a question, how do I get repeat clients? Where and how can I find clients who are willing to commission me over and over? It would really help out having somewhat of a study side income. Is it okay to ask my old or current clients if they want more when "this piece" is done?

keep in contact with the people you draw for while in the process of doing it. Stream for them. doing good work and being out there should help.

>tfw have 1500 followers on tumblr
>This might be good enough for commissions!
>not a single one has asked me
Feels horrible

From what I hear here, you have to get your face on as many communities as possiple, with multiple personas as necessary (each with a portifolio) so not to stain your own image in the eyes of different audiences you wish to pander for.
>begging
Don't be that guy,

Here's a trick you can use. Post finished work and add a comment about it being a commission.
>>2672650
Is that your work anon?
>>2672650
I don't see the problem with asking if they want more OP. I just say be as much a part of the community as possible if you want people to keep approaching you, maybe stream etc. Having multiple places you post helps as far as steady income.
Also is that your work genuinely curious to your blog.

Sexy enough for you?

Do you say anywhere that you do commissions?
Post a "commissions open" sheet with examples of work and prices, mention on your profile you're open for commissions, etc. Tell them exactly how to get in touch with you. Sometimes people just need a nudge.
If you don't do that, you put the onus on them to ask you if you do commissions, most people will just find someone they know do them and know the rates of. Make it easy for them.
