When I first started reading Jojo many years ago, I thought it had the worst art I had ever seen in any professional manga and dropped it a couple of chapters in. From what I can tell, he's gotten a lot better since then, but I think most people only consider Araki a good artist due to how unbelievably terrible the art was in the first couple of volumes.

I can imagine if you read through the entire Jojo manga and you get used to this level of shittyness, then once it gets somewhat less shitty, it probably starts looking really good to you. At least that's my explanation why anyone would consider Araki a good artist.

In my opinion, Araki's drawings, especially his early Jojo pages, have worse anatomy than Rob Liefeld drawings, he draws tiny midget faces , horrendously wonky perspective and the shading and hatching is inconsistent and incredibly dirty and ugly. I already said that what I have read from Jojo has the worst art I have ever seen in manga, which means, every manga you can think of that isn't known for exceptionally ugly art is better in my opinion. From great artists like Miura, Murata, Inoue, to typical shonen stuff like Dragonball, One Piece, Naruto, to any random slice of life moeshit and romcom crap. As long as they have at least clean, appealing lineart, no disgustingly dirty hatching and Liefeld anatomy and they understand the basics of perspective, then it looks better than anything Araki has drawn in his first couple of years as mangaka.

I even said that I think Araki has improved a lot since then, so I'm not quite sure why you are so fucking defensive about it. What exactly do you want to achieve with this discussion anyway?
