Do you guys love your studies? I just talked with my....gf, and she said even if what she's drawing isn't her original work, she would love it. We were talking about how I couldn't bring myself to appreciate my own studies of subjects, like of life or paintings.

Help me out, /ic/. I have the sneaking suspicion that this is coming from a form of arrogance. Just because a drawing is not entirely original doesn't mean I can't love it, right? And what is true originality, anyways? Am I just being a pompous, self-sabotaging cunt?

I forgot to mention WHY this was even a topic of discussion..

I feel very guilty if I'm not working on my own ideas and just doing studies non stop. But exploring my own ideas is terrifying.
