I find it extremely hard to believe he could make a near pixel-perfect copy of a photo using only Procreate, with no pressure sensitivity, with his finger. Some people spend 200 hours drawing cast studies, something as retarded as this would probably take even longer if he was actually painting it for real.

He got the original photo, filtered it a bit and painted over parts of it. First he details and then in larger and larger strokes of locally selected colour, smudging away at things and then finally using an eraser.

He recorded this entire process and then reversed it. Thats why in the video you never actually see what tools he's selected.

Pretty clever.

Procreate's timelapse doesn't show the UI or tools on screen, he faked that in later. When he paints in the beginning you can see the brush size, opacity and color aren't changing in the UI.

the point would be creating believable depictions of things you cant have in the real world
just copying real pictures is pretty dumb, its ok if you do to learn how to paint things more realistically, but its pretty dumb if that is the end goal of it
