You could simplify your shit into basic shapes.
Then you start from those and make something similar to what you have in mind.

You will never be able to put the things on paper, like how you imagined it.
You will always imagine it much better.
The only thing you can do, is getting as near as possible to your idea.
But how near you get, is a question of how good you are at drawing.

Yep.

I still try to visualize as much as possible before I even start to draw but it's better to stick to general simple forms first. A mannequin instead of a full illustration with details for example.
