Anyone got any inspirational quotes from artists? I'll start.
"/ic/ is full of talentless armchair critics and intellectual midgets who waste countless hours on learning dogmatic, outdated, secondhand principles of "correct" techniques, totally crushing the possibility of any freedom of expression and producing homogenous, hollow, meaningless shite"
- Hokusai
"i am a feminist or a numale"
- OP
Are you butthurt because you got a harsh critique OP?

Nah. I come here sometimes out of interest and it never ceases to make me blind with rage. Critiques based on mimesis are completely worthless. People on here are literally asking why Rothko is "good". The same shit people were asking when Rothko was painting over 50 years ago.
>one guy asks why smearing colors on canvas is considered good
FUCK U IC HOW DARE YOU
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Oh, I getcha. You have become the meme yourself. Well, have fun.
>Nice metameme thread, ouroboros op ftw.

I don't really make art. This is a terrible painting from art class at my school, since you ask. Some pointers for my critique: poor proportions, values all fucked up, terrible paint handling,

>The same shit people were asking when Rothko was painting over 50 years ago.
If he lets some people go "to the treshold of the divine" in front of a very carefully layered mass of colors, good for them. Just accept that a lot of people still feel the same about it than 50 years ago, which is nothing.
> "The people who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience I had when I painted them."
Sure thing.
