Someone deleted the new masters academy thread, probably because

This is a red board which means that it's strictly for adults (Not Safe For Work content only). If you see any illegal content, please report it.

Someone deleted the new masters academy thread, probably because it looked a lot like shilling.

I coudn't ask the questions I want answered:

>Can you buy a subscription and share the account with other people? How do subscription websites control this? Is it allowed?

I was subscribed to Schoolism for a while but my account was personal and never shared.
>>
honestly I was disappointed. A lot of explaining on nma not a lot of serious demonstration. Especially for painting.
>>
>>2565001

It's not allowed because there is IP tracking. Literally says that when you go sign up. 2nd get a job.
>>
Are the videos easy to rip? I plan to subscribe for one month just to do this.
>>
some of the vids are rippable but all of the newer stuff is broken in to segments . so its not possible from the way i do it . and yeah they have ip trackin so no sharing :/ a month is definatly worth payin tho , within my month i learned a lot of stuff.
>>
>>2565001
I sincerely hope this video is up somewhere outside a paywall
>>
>updating subscription
>enter all my info
>about to click 'accept terms' and click on
>decide to read anyway
>blah blah blah all good
>very last line
>"Promotion only valid for first time subscribers."

FUCKETY FUCKING FUCKNUTS
>>

I have a good certain amount of videos download off of their site. I used the inspect method and continued on from there. The videos are based off of aguri's one year of fundamentals guide. Really wish I can share it but I can't. :/

I have 17.2 gigabytes of videos from New Masters Academy I got by the same method. They fixed that vulnerability but I think you can download them with a program if you're so inclined, still.

can someone tell me if steve huston's relatively new painting classes are worth it?
>>
>>2569450
Thanks for the tip. I might have to find another way of getting the videos. I'm fucking broke and I don't want to keeping paying for a sub. When I have the time and money I guess.
>>
>>2569459
I imagine most of his technique are taught through his videos on New Masters and a sub there is hella worth it. At least it is if you're at an intermediate level and have done some personal study. If you're literally just starting out you'll be overwhelmed because it's not structured very well for beginners tbhfam
>>
>>2569475
alright Ill try out a month, thanks anon
>>
>>2569443
>>2569450
So how do you go about doing this? Signing up for a trial and then inspecting the shit out of every element?

I don't think that method works anymore unfortunately. They seem pretty protective of the content they easily spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to garner for their website for some reason.

oh damn, my DICKKKKK!!!!

>>
tempted to one month, is there no way to download the vids at all then?.
>>
>>2569665

It's worth it for a month even if you don't get to keep it, it has as much value as the hours you're willing to put in. For the price their asking, you'd be lucky for like an hour of an in-person class, maybe an hour or two of DVD instruction.
Just use the impermanence as motivation to study hard and retain all you can.
>>
I got it for a month without really knowing what the content was other than it had Vilppu videos.

If you are looking for structured lessons or detailed instruction, don't bother. There are very few series of videos that progress. It is mostly just 101 style videos on random topics/medium.

The content that is not Vilppu is inconsistent in quality and there is not a lot of it.

The actual Vilppu content is mostly reshooting of older material/lessons with an even older and slower Vilppu.

If you are a beginner he does not and probably cannot explain his process to you. You won't even really understand most of what he is explaining without drawing for months first.

You will still get a lot out of watching him draw and emulating his technique. But again this is available elsewhere (cg-peers etc) so it's up to you if you want to support him.

Most importantly: If you aren't drawing everyday right now with the ton of free content available to learn from, paying for this site won't magically give you insight or motivation.

>there is not a lot of it
>Erik Olson, 1 instructor out of 20, has sixteen 5+ hour videos

Granted he's an outlier, some instructors have as little as a single hour of content, and you'll be hard pressed to stay awake through even one of his videos.

>>2569823

You're in luck, they're already uploaded

https://www.newmastersacademy.org/subscribe/

full disclosure: Most of the models are not nearly as appealing as Sara. What is it with figure models being "alternative", being heavily tattooed or having ugly ass short hair and shit smdhtbqph
>>
>>2569858
nigga pls.
>>
>>2569919
I don't have them downloaded, myself. They're often several hundred images to a set, with well over 100 sets, and they have to be downloaded individually. You can get the Croquis Cafe model sets at https://mega.nz/#F!es1BSKQR!spODyd0iaQmMelGA2GscFw though.
>>
>>2569925
You could try what this anon suggested >>2566446. Thanks anyways though.
>>
>>2570026
It wouldn't work-that's the same thing as "DownThemAll" You could mass download a bunch of low-res files I guess. They put each image on its own individual page, basically.
>>
>>2570030

You could in theory do it but you aren't getting paid to do it, it's taking up your time, and basically you're doing a job for free.

I don't think you want to work for free while anons get free shit.
>>
>>2570030
It works. I just tested it out. Downloads both the high and low res. Just delete the low res ones. You should get them all before your subscription ends.
>>
>>2569539
I havn't seen his website but any video that streams in your browser can be downloaded. Youtube, pornhub, anything.
>>
>>2570026
Thanks. This works.
>>
>>2569821

There are enough structured videos for a month or two to be worth it, but not much beyond that. They definitely seem to be moving towards more structured content though, it's the older videos that are more haphazard and heavier on random demonstrations rather than structured lessons.

Steve Huston has great, detailed lessons on drawing the head and hands, Erik Olson as mentioned has a very long perspective series, Rey Bustos has a very structured anatomy series, and most top contributing instructors now have step-by-step series for figure drawing through from gesture to anatomy.

It's certainly not the sort of website where you'll benefit from a significant amount of their boasted 600 hours of content, so no one should run headlong into a complete subscription thinking "a couple of hours a day and I'll finish by the end of the year!" - most of what's worthwhile is just the same content being taught by different personalities that will resonate with different people. But it's still a good resource to hop onto now and then if you work well from visual demonstrations or just want to change it up a bit.
>>
>>2570052
Oh it does? That's cool. That's what I get for making assumptions I guess. I assume they're the "mid-tier" resolutions that are like 750xsomething?

>>2570044
I actually started doing it before the subject came up, but it was a major chore. Speaking of that, I don't want to install Chrome but it looks like it's going to have to happen at some point.
>>
>>2570686
Nevermind, don't have to install chrome after all. DTA works if you select the "links" column instead of images.

Huh.
>>
>>2570708
Sweet that's good to know. Glad it's working for you. Downloading an image one by one would take forever.
