That is clearly dragon plate armor and a rune sword, try and be more original.

Having a black outline on everything but the hair is pretty off putting man (not to mention many of the strokes that make up the hair going "against the grain" and not looking fantastic to begin with). His goatee looks pretty shitty and asymmetrical, the moustache looks goofy because you've used the same stroke direction throughout when the hair should be growing "out" from the planes of the face if you know what I'm saying, and you need to work on your anatomy because the face in general just looks pretty bad, bud. With all that said I think the patterns in the armor are pretty cool; the armor in general is a step above most of the other stuff in the image. Keep working.

You Colty my man tracing is not a crime and there are a lot of exercises artists use that involve tracing to help them understand how things like muscles work better; however you won't get better by tracing all of your finished pieces like this.

I think youre relying too heavily on the same swirly pattern. The design is actually the weakest element of this image and serves no purpose (the face could use some work as well imo). Not trying to be discouraging though, good try

my biggest problem is the face
you spend so much time coloring and shading all the little nooks and crannies of the armour, but the face is basically just the sketch with some color.
the eyes,nose and mouth look flat. like symbols instead of anatomical features., and the eyes have way too strong of an outline.

given your starting gif in the video where you say coltybah you seem to have a good grasp of drawing lips and noses so i cant imagine how or why youd make such a subpar face in the pic

Can't believe my thread has lasted so long. Thanks for all the comments and views and criticism, hostile as some of it may be. I know how me "tracing" my references pissed everyone off, but it's just what I do, I enjoy it and I like the way it looks and it works for me, I need a steady real base so my drawings don't go crazy. I implore all of you who don't enjoy my swirling patterns to look closer and get lost in them. That's all, thanks again and I'm making less douchey character concept art as we speak. I'm planning on making a funny animated story with some parts rotoscoped, some parts freehand animation and a lot of abstract weird stuff and backgrounds.

It's a speedpainting, meaning to finish a drawing within short amount of time, and that means some details come first some come later.
If the focus is the clothes that putting face with equal amount of effort is a waste of time
