why are you using short fat rough jabby brush strokes to represent the human body when the human body is long, flowing and smooth.

make use of crtl+z, you are drawing digitaly, dont for get that, instead of sketching one line with many small lines, use the computers power to attempt a single long line but many times.
proportions are not bad, you have an eye for that, but pay more attention to the negative space, the shapes created by everything that is not the body.

Looks normal to me. Keep in mind that the lens used seems to be a long one, which reduces the apparent size change between foreground and background objects. The calf looks larger compared to the knee, and the foot looks larger compared to the calf than you'd expect to see with the naked eye.

doesnt seem that horrible, you just made some small mistakes that start to add up.
you started her neck at where the choker begins,and ended it behind her ear, hence why it looks a bit fatter.
you also made the side of her face pop out more from the edge of her nose/lips (probably because youre afraid of doing two bordering lines too close), which makes her nose appear smaller and flatter than the original.

I've already done most of the refinement that I'm planning on though. Just listing anything that your eyes can spot that mine didn't would help a ton. (though I can see a few things as I upload this now. eg:shoulder level and posture.)

Maybe switch off the linework if you want to really test your values. The eyes and lips are flat, they need more planes and you used very few values to draw them. The image reads but I think the shadows would be a little darker in real life (or the light lighter). It's good that you actually went out to draw real stuff. I don't know if I should advise you to study some asaro heads from pictures because that would be a step down from real life observation but it would help you with breaking down the planes of the face.

Try flipping the picture and your canvas on it's side and draw like that.

- rework the hair, it looks too tidy and uniform.
- the eyebrows are too smooth
- lips need more light and shadow definitions, as those are very prominent in the original picture.
- fix the ear, the piece of hair going across it at the bottom doesn't match the original picture, making it almost seem like the entire top of the ear is falling off of the bottom half
- forehead shading is too flat
- shading under chin and at the top of the neck needs more light and dark, its too flat (mostly just needs more definition between ambient and diffuse)
- use a harder edge around the left boob (currently just looks like it blends in to the middle of her upper body, when the original pic has a well-defined edge), and also on the rib cage center line

I disagree with the other anons. First and foremost it shouldn't be about details, it should be about fundamentals.

I think the main flaw in your image is the head shape and structure. The girl in the photo has more pronounced cheek bones, and a broader chin than what you gave her.

It feels like you are leaning towards giving your heads a more feminine, softer and rounder head shape than what they actually have.

i think you got the shape of the face down pretty well. the features are the problem though. try to really focus on copying what you're seeing. if it worked in anime drawings, it can also work when drawing naturalistic stuff.

This started as a warmup so I could see what I needed to work on. I'm glad I had the patience to sit own and do it, because the first thing I learned was that nothing starts out good. As bad as it is now, it was worse when I laid out the basic mannequin.

Got to work on basic shadows and light, too. The legs were hard.

Your suffer from a lot of basic issues. The first big I see is a lack of form .
Read Michael hamptons figure drawing design and invention. The pdf of the book is easily googable.

Think of curly hair the same way you would think of straight hair - big shapes first, then minor details. It's still affected by gravity, too, it's just generally a lot thicker, which makes it less evident. Curly hair isn't as completely random as it may look at first glance.
