For overall guidance i'd recommend reading the sticky in the beginner thread of /ic.

otherwise first thing you should do is try to copy a drawing, any drawing really, maybe even a couple of them. This is just to get a feel for what you're doing, which is an important first step, in fact you should probably do it right now after you're done reading this whole post.

The next step after that one would be to copy a drawing again, but this time drawing it upside down, and this time you're trying very hard to make it as accurate as possible, and really taking your time. This shouldn't take a mere 15 minutes.

What you have to do is make comparisons between your drawing, and the thing you are drawing constantly to make sure what you're drawing is correct. That means checking that the angle is the same angle, the size is the same size, the shape is all the same shape, or that oh hey, the distance between x1 and x2 is equal to the distance between y1 and y2, or maybe a little bit less, so I can just use that distance; that is what I mean by making comparisons. This is generally what people mean when they say "loomis" btw.

The reason why you draw it upside down is to break the symbol drawing habit people have. Long story short, people tend to draw a symbol of what they what they want to draw instead of what they are actually seeing. An easy example is a smiley face sun; if you looked at the sun, it does not actually really look anything like the symbol of it.

In closing, what you should do right now (or whenever you feel like doing this) is just practice copying a few drawings just to test the waters and get a lil bit of practice in. no need to be so hardcore. It's more important to enjoy drawing than to do what you're supposed to because if you don't enjoy what you're doing then you'll just eventually quit temporarily until you can build up the motivation to try again. Plus, you only ever enjoy drawing when you're doing good or learning and it makes you more motivated to draw, so it's smart to have that be the focus.

I'd imagine most people initially have a lot of difficulty drawing hands, and it was always (and to a certain degree still is) something i'd avoid. That's why I'd recommend you study hands so it can stop being such a problem for you; because it's satisfying to not have to worry about it anymore, but there's really not much point forcing yourself. You need momentum to do these kinds of things, and if you don't have it and you don't think you can get it, then trying will probably be a waste of time.
