>that feel when human history is essentially an unbroken litany of massacres and rapes
It's also an unbroken litany of love and devotion?
What is this glass half empty bullshit.
>>725802
>what is political, intellectual, social, cultural history
Fuck off
>>725806
But that stuff doesn't get into the history books.
>human history is just an unbroken chain of benis in vagina
>>725807
It all gets burned when the next warlord swoops in.
>>725821
"Unbroken" is problematic, there have certainly been fits and starts, periods of very little development, dark ages, etc.
Portraying it as a single continuous litany without any breaks is just not accurate, imo.
OP needs to stop being a 21st century digital boy.

books. boooooks.
>>726454
Probably every day for the last 20,000 years at least one person was raped and/or murdered.
>>726465
Can someone explain this pic?
>>729226
It is a 4-panel comic depicting a 3d face scoffing at the cartoon man for his lack of ironic depth. The 3d face shows off his impressive level of irony.
>human history is one daily routine per day per person forever, with a sprinkling of actual events
>>729226
It's an idiotic movement on facebook of postironic memes which are these retarded self-parodying pages
>>725802
>human history is an unbroken litany of things happening or not
>>725806
>love
Spooky
>>729254
To be honest family this is a good framework to build a naturalistic historical narrative.
Lots of history focuses only on kings and gods and revolutions and ignores the daily toil and domestic habits of common folk.
Life is also an endless cycle of eating and shitting.
it's weird to think that most people haven't watched another person die, but thousands of people have died in a single day in one location during a lot of historical events
>>725834
have a better version
>>729335
You forgot sleeping, eating, shitting and sleeping. Wew, the nightmares...
>Not defining 'history' as the self-comprehension by Spirit of its own existence in time
>that feel when everyone you meet would probably hate you and be willing to kill you if some authority figure told them lies about you and incited violence toward you
Civilization feels like a razor thin line.

That's because primary Sources mostly cared about warlords, kings and emperors, not what they ate for breakfast.
>>732226
That's why it's actually kind of cute when you get that tiny glimpse into real life

I think that poster was referring to the Milgram obedience experiments. Many when they learn of these, repeatable across all cultures, lose some measure of faith in humanity.
Humans are all the same
Just think about it

Not quite, it's pretty much all murder after that point. Guess fighting is more fun than fucking.
Do you live in Subsaharian Africa, OP?
>>725802
there are long periods of history in europe, china, and japan without endemic warfare
in fact, among the allemani, wars of succession were generally confined to the nobility and their families. they had contract law before written laws were institutionally formalized.
the majority of china was untouched by large scale warfare, they just kept farming and ignored the wars, which is why they would generally accept whatever new dynasty installed itself as the rulers of the midle kingdom. they were uninvolved, why would they care?
not all of humanity is like the middle east and africa.

There were long stretches of peace there as well
