you can think of the throne of God as just the supreme locus of reality, the eternal point all ephemeral manifestation swirls around.
you guys seriously need to be more imaginative here. we are talking literally transcendent modes of being, the sources of everything we see in reality. we must use language a peasant can relate to because that's who the bible was for: the common man. if you wanted to really get at the meat of it, well, that's what mysticism is for

Are you saying a peasant would not understand Parent but somehow understands Father?

Ancient semetic cultures were patriarchies. Mothers and fathers were not equal. Fathers had more authority. So to call God a parent would be ambiguous, as the roles and authorities were not interchangeable.
