Why do a lot of political revolutions (as opposed to 'kick foreigners out' revolutions, a la American) seem to degenerate into predominantly either dictatorship or authoritarianism?
English Civil War into Cromwell
French Revolution into Robespierre then Napoleon
Russian Revolution into Lenin then Stalin
Power vacuum leads to real meritocracy based on ruthlessness

>American revolution was about kicking foreigners out

It was opposing an outside rule rather than overhauling an entire system from within like the ones mentioned, or the Spring of Nations and to some extent 1989.
Revolution turns into chaos, and authoritarians can bring back order faster than any other solution.

Nothing to do with foreigners, the Americans were ethnically English living in the same country as other Englishmen. It was about independence.
>>3378098
Americans saw the English as being essentially foreigners by that point.

>independence
Yes. i.e. outside rule...

Democracies require a degree of trust between opposing political sides. That trust evaporates in revolutionary climates, leading to the conclusion that only authoritarianism can ensure stability.

You're being intentionally obtuse. England is outside of America, therefore the American Revolution was a war against outside control.

America was a part of Britian much like Dallas is a part of Texas, faggot.
>>3378141
>America was a part of Britian
America was part of the British Empire until after the war, at which point America was no longer part of the British Empire. It's not that complicated. Of course, America was never actually part of Britain itself. Britain is an island in North Atlantic. America is a continent.
This thread is shit lads, depart ye elsewhere.

Because populations that defy the will of God and overthrow those whom He has granted the Divine right of rule, must inevitability endure God's Wrath until such a time as the weight of their sins has been purged through a baptism of blood.

Wrath is a sin. God is good boi
