What would human history be like if the continents were still arranged like Pangea?
How the fuck would I know?
it'd be a lot more interesting desu
>>3373390
The big lake in the middle would almost certainly become a major trading hub that everybody would fight to control, that's for sure.
We would be in our 8th world war by now
>>3373390
Tamriel?
At least the whole new world would be completely different from how it developed, instead of asian based natives, its more likely some caucasian etnicithy develops in there.
>>3373380
>impliying mountains would be like that in pangea
>>3373513
Just roll with it.
>>3373475
Kek
>>3373499
why? africa is connected to the americas
>>3373834
I had in context North America, but if so either the Malis or the Egyptians which is possible were also mostly caucassians would take some parts on South America and maybe the North would be from European or Arab migrants.
>>3373380
Probably a lot more wars.
Neutrality would be an even bigger meme than it is now.
>>3373408
Nah, too tropical. It would be exploited by the people to the south.
Where Patagonia is and the enclosed sea directly to its east would be Pangaea's equivalent of Europe. Tons of protected ports to encourage maritime trade, geographically isolated, defensible, and at a latitude with a good climate that isn't warm enough to induce laziness and disease.
>>3373885
Oh, and there would be this huge pirate culture on the far side of the world since it would no longer make any economic sense to cross the Great ocean to get from one place to another. All the outlaws would just go out into the ocean to escape and prey on anyone stupid enough to follow.
Or maybe not.
Maybe the lack of a need to go out into the ocean has all craft just be coastal craft.
>>3373933
>>3373933
There would still be a need to venture out into the ocean, for the sake of fish/whaling once coastal stocks are depleted in the 19th century. Plus, offshore drilling in the 20th century. But you're right, in that there wouldn't be much motivation to go out very far for most of history.
wouldn't like, half of it be desert?
>>3373513
Post an accurate map then. Seriously. I can't fucking find one, all of them are the obnoxious 3rd grader interpretation where they just pushed all the continents together.
>>3373380
A lot like how the Middle East is now
>>3374779
Something like that, but then again Pangea lasted for over 100 million years so it sorta depended on what period of Pangea you're talking about.
>>3374819
Sweet, thanks
>>3373380
Less phenotypical variation
>>3373885
>induce laziness
What?
>>3373513
Some of them would be, but of course that map is exaggerated and according to contemporary plate tectonics.
>>3374828
Yup, everyone would probably look more or less like Abos or Melanesians or something.
A lot, lot more wars that is for sure.
>>3373380
Completely different.
No Roman empire.
No Chinese empire.
No Homo sapiens.
No Egyptian empire.
Nothing we know will be same.
>>3373380
>That one state that will try to attempt "UNITED PANGEA" memes.
>>3375422
Theres no need to attempt. Unification always happen when absent of external threats.
China/Rome/Egypt
>>3373380
You couldn't have picked a worse map of Pangea, this one is completely inaccurate.
