How did that country come out on top if other countries had a huge head start of centuries or even millenia?
Why is the US not a 3rd world country like all other colonies?
Large landmass, large amount of natural resources, protected on two sides by vast oceans, relatively friendly with its only two neighbors and World War 2.

They also all speak English, less so these days.
>>3340634
Both world wars actually.
If Europeans didn't commit suicide and tried to annihilate each other twice in just 30 fucking years, America would still be pretty powerful, but the gap between the US and other countries would be far smaller.

They weren't exploited by their colonial masters.

With Industrialisation most infrastructure had to be build anew anyways. Railways, canalisation, roads that are suitable for cars, electricity grid, telecommunication, etc. are all things Europe had to build after 1800 the same the US had to build it so Europe really didn't have any headstart, at least not in the infrastructure that is relevant for a modern civilisation. China fell behind because it wasn't able to build those new kind of infrastructures.

In fact, there not being any existing kind of infrastructures that had to be teared off first made it easier for the US to build those infrastructures.

The british settler colonies were given alot more freedom and self governance. This combined with the parlimentary traditions of the English ensured that the United States could build instatuions that governed its territory effectively. This stopped the government from being too corrupt and self.destructive during the key century of industrialization.

High IQ, strong culture of individualism and enterpreneurship, vast landmass with plenty of resources = best country on earth.

Because England gave them everything they needed to succeed. The infrastructure was already in place before the coup. After that they just had to keep it going and capitalise on the vast resources.
tl;dr, England.

China had plenty of infrastructure before the first half of the 20th century fucked them raw.
All their rivals being bombed into dust while they remained untouched (in before meme balloon bombs), probably helped a lot.

Well of course, the USA was built by whites, not native americans.

World wars were bound to happen.
There were too many powerful countries in too close proximity in Europe

>Why is the US not a 3rd world country like all other colonies?
????
What is Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea?
American exceptionalism is a meme.
It's just the largest of the Anglo settler colonies, and if we measure success as living standards not even the most successful one. (Australia is more developed and a better place to live)
>>3340622
Everyone (that mattered) except for the US was bombed to shit in the 2nd world war
>>3341336
>Australia is a better place to live
>a penal colony is a better place to live
Inb4 you assume I'm American
>>3341408
North America was used as a penal colony as well until the American Revolution.

Australians enjoy a higher life expectancy, a lower infant mortality, more social equality and no crime compared to the United States.
I'm not assuming you are American, I'm simply assuming you are retarded or a troll.
HDI index ranking
Australia - 2° in the World
United States - 10° in the World

Australia is like Norway, a well developed extraction state that didn't fall victim to the resource curse.
However, Australia's economy outside of digging shit out of the ground/farming is nothing to brag about. The abundance of extraction wealth allows Australia to fund better social programs and have lower taxes than other countries.
