You could say the same for any ideology that requires a given technological level to operate. Hell, why don't we just revert back to hunter-gatherer tribal societies. No, look into Jaque Fresco's Venus Project and tell me a) how that wouldn't work if the technology and infrastructure were there and b) how the Venus Project isn't communism/socialism? Given a UBI, and maybe even genetic engineering to make laziness as well as other less desirable human traits a thing of the past (for some people), humanity could do it. Without our technology we wouldn't even have a history as a species, so don't write off future breakthroughs as"uneccesary" to make some ideologies work optimally.
