Germany planned to start Ukrainain uprising in Poland but after R&M pact they stopped supporting them. After German-Soviet war started many Ukrainians joined police force in occupied Ukraine. In the meantime Bandera(leader of OUN-B) was arrested by Germans and sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. After Stalingrad, Ukrainian nationalists noticed that Germans will lose the war and they need to prepare themselves for new Soviet rule. Many of them left police force ,stealing guns and ammunition, and formed militia groups fighting against Germans and Soviet partisans. They also committed mass genocide on Poles, Jews, Russians and Belarusians.
