So what happened at Dunkirk? I know this board is brutally honest and really doesn't take any of the false myths so did Hitler let them go for a peace offer or they just couldn't crush that pocket?
Also if Hitler managed to capture/kill all of them or atleast like 90% of them would that be the ending of the british army? I mean the whole B.E.F captured or killed which is the nucleus of the british land forces. If this happens does even Italy steamroll them in Africa? Or with german support? Also would the brits even have the will to fight on seeing the germans have now more than 200.000 POW's?

Plucky Brits managed to evacuate from Dunkirk while smelly frogs cowered in fear and even those that were evacuated to Britain went back to France so they wouldn't have to keep fighting. It showed the world that Brits are capable of great feats and are willing to keep on the fight no matter what.

It's more that the resources that would have been necessary to crush the pocket quickly were considered to be more valuable pursuing the rest of the French line as it was falling back. After all, traditional German doctrine said that infantry (slower elements) should mop up pockets, and besides, the Luftwaffe destroyed most of the docks early on; they didn't think teh British would be able to evacuate as quickly as they did.
>Also if Hitler managed to capture/kill all of them or atleast like 90% of them would that be the ending of the british army?
No. The BEF was roughly 10 divisions, and the British had a lot more than that. It would have hurt them, especially in training more units, but it wouldn't have put them out of the war.
>.If this happens does even Italy steamroll them in Africa?
No. Most of the "British" British forces in Egypt were there from before the war; and most of the reinforcements that came in come 1941 were either from India or Australia. It would have more of an effect come 1942, but that gets harder to predict.

What kind of stupid question is that? Of course they would. What possible basis would you say that the British would throw in the towel for that?

German Propaganda

The boring truth is that the German army simply did not believe that Dunkirk was a high priority. They were much more concerned about taking Paris. Hermann Göring convinced Hitler that the Luftwaffe would be able to stop the evacuation with air attacks. Thus, the Air Force was given the job while the Wehrmacht was left free to focus on Paris.
However, air attacks against Dunkirk proved to be far less effective than anticipated. Large bombers like the He-111 were generally unavailable, and so aircraft like the Ju-87 had to carry the day. These small dive-bombers lacked the payload necessary to counter the huge number of ships that the Brits had acquired to assist in the evacuation.

It's real name is actually Duinkerke(n)

>keep fighting no matter what
You realize Hitler believed this to be true and thus didn't mind waiting 3 days before ordering the attack?
They literally ran the fuck away.

Not to mention Hitler and the French and everyone else thought the British would come to the negotiating table within weeks after the catasrophe that had just occured in France.

When reaching Dunkirk, Von Runstedt's tanks were running out of fuel and overstreching the frontline, German Army needed to take time and regroup, before striking the final blow.
Germans were suprised with British counterattack at Arras so much, they predicted high casualties if panzers decided to immidietly rush in
To not let British slip away, Hitler tasked Goring and Lutfwaffe with a task to cripple British navy trying to get soldiers out
German propaganda of course changed the occasion into some "mercy over fellow aryans" bullshit

Fighting in Britain? They were sent back to the battlefield, dumbo.
