How old were the heroes of the Trojan War?
In the Odyssey, Nestor is said to have witnessed three generations, which approximately lasted around 30 years. That means that 20 years after the abduction of Helen his age could range from 61 to 90. I believe he should be around 75, given that he is always referred to as very old and wise. At the beginning of the war he was 55, most likely.
Neoptolemus was born after his father's departure and largely contributed to the fall of the City, meaning he was around 10 at the end of the fighting. How is that possible?
Let's discuss this and other characters together frens

This thread is too intellectual for /his/

This thread is probably a lot more suited to /lit/, but it's pretty hard to say. A lot of artistic depictions of characters like Odysseus vary on who had them commissioned and when, for example Tiberius' statue at Sperlonga looks like a weathered middle-aged hoplite, even if should be he's around ~50 in my opinion by the time he washes up on Polyphemus' island.
I wouldn't be surprised if Greeks asked each other the same question at drinking parties.
