Childhood is idolizing Norse mythology.
Adulthood is realizing Finnish mythology is far superior.

I like the idea of happiness being a constant in the universe because how the sampo was broken and divided between tribes. This caused a massive influx of spells, magic and rituals that were and still are used in daily lifes. That is why Kalevala is filled with stuff of people trying to take or conquer more happiness for them and the people who have less happiness try to oppose people with more of it and desu I somewhat believe in the constant happiness-theory.
Has anyone here read Kanteletar? I have heard it's quite pornografic and it is one of the reasons why it never got as much publicity as Kalevala which is not so accurate source on finnish paganism

Unfortunately that's not mythology, that's a typical drunken weekend.

The reality is that there simply isn't an accurate source on Finnish paganism. The best sources we have come from early (((Swedish))) missionaries who only had a rough understanding and didn't appreciate various regional differences.
>>3303826
Well the reason for that is that there were no "Finnish" people at all living in finland. It wasn't a unified country but more of a coalition of tribes that shared language and some gods like Tapio/Mielikki, Perkele, Ahti/Vellamo and some commonly shared similarities that were common among the Uralic and finnish people like having a strong connection to waterbirds, north star and how deceased were remembered.
I think I need to link you guys this so that you understand where the finnish paganism comes from and how it was formed.

Are you South African?
>>3303920
No I'm just a guy from southern parts of Lapland. Why? I'm a little drunk so I might write nonsensical shit sometimes
>>3303336
Yes it is
>>3303938
There was a South African guy on /pol/ one time talking about Uralic waterbirds
>>3303946
Oh well it's common between Uralic religions. Like finnish Swan of Tuonela for example is a waterbird that swims in Tuonela-river that serves as a barrier between worlds.
Where does tengri come in?

>I'm a little drunk
You didn't have to say that anon. You have already said you live in Lapland.
