Why did Nationalism go from being a Left-wing ideology to a right-wing ideology?
>Republicanism is left wing
If anything it was a revolt of the liberal-progressive class against the nobility, the same people who would later ow factories where all the proles worked in.

It's still a left-wing ideology, very few people today could be considered "right wing" in any sense. In practically every Western country you have liberals and slightly more right-leaning liberals.
Because monarchs ruled multiple peoples and often didn't even speak their subject's language.
Nationalism was about one nation for one people. The leader guides the people. It's left of absolute monarchism where the people of many nations serve a soverign.

Probably when nationalists starting genociding people

Am i the only one who thinks our current system is working?
Maybe it's just because i know history so much, but everything is vastly better than it ever was before
>>3297709
It's right-wing whatever is "traditional" and left-wing whatever supports change? And traditions do change eventually so there you go.

Nah, look up the end of Bowley's Law:

This is unlike previous Gilded Ages because the wage share of the economy is not stable. Add in the 4-6 billion people that will be living in Africa by 2100, global warming displacing them, and liberal democracies inability to respond to mass migration and the future is fucked.

The future
Not now, right now we're living at the best time ever.
The future will be fine anyway, once people get over ww2 racism will make a comeback and africans will stay in africa
Europeans have a breaking point where we'll turn full evil psycho again.

When the establishment changed from Hegemonic Thalassocracies into Sovereign Nation-states.

Too bad you'll be powerless by then
>>3298001
This is the most americans can think about politics wow
>>3297709
Nationalism then was revolutionary. Nationalism now is reactionary.
>>3297709
nationalism isnt compatibile with the right wing, you either support socialism and love your nation, or you worship rich kike and shill for internationalism.
>>3298716
>hating kikes
>not respecting how well they do

Pretty sure the French Revolution was a reactionary movement. Either way reactionary seems like a mostly useless term. All political movements are a reaction to circumstances atleast one group views as unacceptable. The word reactionary's main purpose seems to be to label something, in a somewhat veiled manner, as bad. The main benefit of using the word reactionary over bad is that reactionary sounds more serious and like a word intelligent people would use.

>the French Revolution was a reactionary movement
How do you suppose that?
>>3298090
Do you know where the word bourgeoise comes from?
>>3298743
>meritocracy
Truly the most cucked outlook.
>>3297709
Nationalism is left of monarchism, and right of globalism.
>>3297740
Again, it had to do with the standards of the time. France had not yet reached the industrial capitalist stage of the class struggle; the revolution was largely middle-class, but under the French system of the time, the middle class was closer to the working class than to the clergy and nobility. The bourgeoisie/proletariat struggle can only really arise once theocracy and aristocracy are abolished. Until then the workers and the owners are naturally united against a greater common enemy.

Right-wing liberals are still right-wing.

>The future will be fine
>racism will make a comeback
>[Europeans] will turn full evil psycho again

Reactionary has a specific meaning, it doesn't just mean you're "reacting" to something (which pretty much ALL movements do). It would probably be better to just read "regressive" whenever you hear reactionary.
>>3299130
I'd like to hear your rational arguments against meritocracy.
>>3298001
This is the worst chart I've see on internet.
>>3299137
It's a pipe dream, much like communism. It only ever exists on paper, real human beings are naturally nepotistic and any meritocratic dreams get Peter principle'd to obilivion anyway.
