>When people's quality of life decline's, they toss away the ''civilized'' act and show their true primal nature.
How true is this statement?

There's no such thing as human nature. People are shaped by society and shape it back all in certain ways.
>>3293546
Very true. Look at any socialist country.

Absolute bullshit.
>When peiple's quality of life improves, they toss away the "barbarian" act and show their true civilized state.
How true is this statement?

What that argument says is that people will drop this "shape" given to them by society, by other people once things get worse.
While people might be helpful and nice as long as they can lead a good life, this civilizedness is not their default state.
It's human nature that you want sniff that 16 year old girls asshole, it's society that makes you deny that desire.

What about "the thing itself" or objective reality? Does it not exist? You can't change reality with the power of thought!
Thucydides phrased it better
Trotsky worded it even better>>3294001
>The depth and strength of a human character are defined by its moral reserves. People reveal themselves completely only when they are thrown out of the customary conditions of their life, for only then do they have to fall back on their reserves
