If they could, most likely you'd get closer to just race relations in current day.

If not, I don't think there would ever be a lasting peace. Imagine if say monkeys evolved over night, and can now invent weapons of war and have a full spoken language. It'd only be a matter of time before one species eradicated the other.

The species that achieves intensive agriculture first will drive the others to ecological niches, you'd have neanderthals in Siberia and homo habilis deep in the jungle.
