If Hitler hadn't gone into art or politics, what do you think he would have been like as a philosopher?
He had a very unique and interesting worldview based around the concept of struggle and seems like he could have been another in the long line of German continental philosophers.
Could he possibly be thought of as a type of Continental philosopher who sought to find or create meaning collectively through ethnic volkish nationalism as opposed to existentialist individualism from guys like Nietzsche and Stirner?

We already have the answer for this question because Hitler was already a fucking philosopher
Yes, he would be a continental philosopher like Heidegger or Foucalt.
They all have a peculiar love-hate relationship with the "natural". To manipulate the natural world effectively world one must embrace cold unforgiving natural selection and logic. However any notion that science can explain one's own psychology and motivations or even influence them is considered literal heresy, by both the left and the right mind. Hitler never questioned his hatred of the Jews and surety of Aryan superiority. The left stubbornly hold to the clean slate theory and the bias towards blaming capitalism for flaws in human nature. Very different conclusions, similar reasoning.

Hitler, philosopher? The greatest kek ever. Ever read Mein Kampf? Hitler was real retard and idiot. Just this bullshit with "Aryans" proves it. He was strong street politician though, could make inspiring speeches during rallies, which was enough to win authority at that times. Initial success of Nazi Germany was due to general German discipline and efficiency, not due to 'talents' of this asshole.

Mein Kampf wasn't meant as some honest philosophical treatise or anything, it was a political move first and foremost.
There's much better and more honest insight into his actual views based on his personal conversations with other Nazi members. For example, in public Hitler would talk about how he was a Christian because to admit to not being a Christian would have been politically suicidal, although in private he didn't believe in Christianity whatsoever.

>can't be an atheist because atheism is for materialist commies
>can't be Christian because it glorifies meekness and compassion
>can't be a pagan and worship Odin either because that's for pathetic nerd LARPers like Himmler and would be ridiculed in modern age
How did Hitler resolve this.

He and the Nazis kind of wanted to revive Germanic pagan folkish religions but realized that most Germans were staunchly Christian and probably wouldn't change.
Eventually they kind of settled on the idea of kind of creating a new pseudo-religion based on 'worship' or reverence of the German volk itself, with particular reverence towards the Fuhrer. There is some speculation that Die Volkshalle/Grosse Halle would have been used to pay reverence to/worship the Fuhrer and the German Reich.
Also in terms of personal religious views Hitler was probably some type of loose deist largely influenced by Schopenhauer and Nietzsche among certain other largely German Continental philosophers.

That is a bit harsh. His work was in the intellectual ballpark of continental philosophy and attracted the same audience until certain events made it unfashionable.

>He and the Nazis kind of wanted to revive Germanic pagan folkish religions
Some of Nazis wanted, but Hitler? I've only seen quotes of him disparaging thing about neo-paganism, occultism etc.

Wait, so why did Himmler get such a high rank? Was Hitler just fucking entirely inconsistent with his beliefs?

Hitler needed people around him he considered loyal.

Impossible since he was just a rhetorician.

Well Hitler wasn't a fan of Christianity and likely wanted it to be done away with, however, his idea of a folkish religion isn't probably isomorphic to what we generally think of i.e. traditional paganism.
