Why is it that every other "bad guys" in history are so often demonized as subhumans or barbarians, but these guys get a free pass?

They do?
The term "Hun" was literally brought back to use because of German barbarism in 20th century.
Because its impossible to shine the light of barbarism and sub-humanism on a group that was literally eradicating the barbarians and sub humans in an attempt to preserve one of the most modern and European cultures of the time. Its like saying the British and French empires were savage in their imperialistic campaigns that brought the civilization we know today to the people that are openly called savage and uncivilized by comparison.

Akshually it's because the Kaiser told them to "fight like Huns" during the Boxer Rebellion, only in WW1 did it become an insult

It's easy to proclaim yourself civilized and all around you barbarians and subhumans. But it doesn't make you any less barbarous if you do gruelling and savage things yourself.

Incas were superior to europeans though.

Its just really convenient to demonize them in this period of time we're in.
