Things I learned about the Napoleonic war through playing BTW.

A lot of this is just memeing but that game actually got me extremely interested in French and Russian tactics/strategy and military units not mention playing the Napoleonic Mod for M&W and learning about our regiments history ( I can't remember if it was Mariners, or 9e régiment d’infanterie légère, I can't really find information on "Mariners" so it might be the latter I don't know though this was a few years back)

Everyone knew and used Greek fire on their ships.
Medieval galleys/ships fought each other by shooting large ballista flaming arrows.
Walls could not be manned by soldiers no matter what.
Light cavalry was essentially useless in real battles
War dogs didn't exist
On a serious note, this game was fucking shitty that even as a kid I realized that. I mean, c'mon.,at least make the effort of having a few different skins depending on the region of the civilization, for soldiers too. It really hurt my autismo to see asian units be identical to european and arab ones, and even mesoamerican. What the shit microshaft?

Best gaming experience of my life was a 2x2 with some friends playing the conquistador expansion. Favorite experience was moving a hoard of villagers under guard as close as I dared to an enemy town to erect a castle. I immediately garrisoned all of the villagers within to double its firepower.

So while he dealt with that cluster fuck, I built up an army and swapped out my villagers for heavy cavalry. He eventually destroys the castle, and the town is swarmed.
