These days many Druze are political leftists, supporting groups like the Syrian Baathists or Hezbollah or the communist party of Lebanon.

They are good at war, the Maronites got BTFO a few times in history.

They worship one of the Fatimid Caliphs by the name of Al-Hakim (996-1021) like a messianic figure, which is kinda funny since by almost all historical records he was absolutely insane, and did all kinds of bizarre stuff. Thing was the circumstances surrounding his death is very mysterious (he was probably murdered by his sister Sitt al Bulk, who succeded him as a regent, one of the most famous women in arabic political history) but his body was never found, so inevitably some people (who shortly afterwards came to be known as the Druze) still think he is alive in hiding, waiting for him to emerge on the day of divine judgement, kinda like the 12th Shia Iman in the Twelver Shi'ite teachings. Basically its an offshoot of Ismai'lism who worship an absolute madman, and Ismai'lism itself is an offshoot of Shia Islam, to make things even more complicated.
