Can someone explain to me why he is considered such a great general? I know he instituted a lot of reforms in the Prussian army and organized it well, but McClellan did the same and we don't remember him as a good general. It seems like most of his wars were won by near miracles, or by teaming up with more powerful people. I doubt he earned such a reputation without deserving it.

There was the end of the seven years war where Russia switched to his side because of their new king's fanboyism over his generalship.

He is regarded as a great General because he fought a 3 front war against 3 great powers for seven years, each of which outnumbered him in population at least 3 to 1. Rossbach and Leuthen were probably his greatest battles.
