Can we have a serious thread about Marxism? Let's have a real discussion that is not memed to death. I'm trying to understand what it is that appeals so bad to Marxists. What are some recommended reads on Marx and his philosophies?

Good luck. It was created on memes. It is fueled by meme and now memes are used to destroy what is left of it.

It doesn't work at all and can never work.
Marx's critiques on Capitalism can still be seen as valid, though.
But Marxism has never, can never and will never end well or resemble working.

In theory, Marxism seeks to reach a classless society where everyone is provided with everything he needs for a comfortable life and works for the good of the community, not to further the financial interests of the employer.
The best start would be the Communist Manifesto as it was meant to be an introduction to Marxism. Anti-Dühring by Engels would probably be something to continue with as it goes more in-depth. The one work that gets mentioned the most when talking about Marxism is The Capital (a critic of political economy) but that's a bit harder to read, especially the second and third book - I can say that I have tried but never bothered to finish them.

The best start would be Marx's life where he had a servant maid who he never paid and kicked out after impregnating her and also that he was a bum supported by his friends and family while his uncle founded the Philips company and could have had an entry in the business world and learn how it actually is.

come on dude, the best part is that he handed the baby to engels, who gave it to a proletariat family

Id say Wage Labour and Capital by Marx and socialism utopian and scientific by Engels would be a good place to start. Both have the rigor that the communist manifesto lacks, and both are much shorter than Marx's capital.
