The true redpill is realizing that he was the best general in the Union Army.

That's not Winfield Scott. That's the guy who had the Army of Northern Virginia's nuts in a vise at Antietam and didn't crush them utterly.

t. edgelord 12 year old who read his first civil war history book and decided to be contrarian.
He could have ended the war before it dissolved into a bloody slaughter, but didn't, because he was a fucking coward.
Excellent organizer though, his army he built won the war.

Winfield Scott is either a traitor, or an incompetent or both.
>>3227064
After Second Bull Run he literally reorganized the Union Army and let it to victory at Antietam.
>muh vice
The Union Army had suffered heavy casualties.
>>3227074
This is only half the redpill.
If Lincoln had kept him on then there would have been no Gettysburg or Chancellorsville.
>>3227093
>Winfield Scott is either a traitor, or an incompetent or both.
How the fuck do you figure that?
>The Union Army had suffered heavy casualties.
So? The Army of Northern Virginia had as well, and he had the chance to win the war in a day that he let slip past because he idiotically believed Lee had another 20,000 reserves that nobody could find.
Turns out that not crushing your enemy when you can leads to more casualties.
>>3227097
He still defeated the Confederates at Antietam and paved the way for the Emancipation Proclamation.
He was relieved at the point when he had split Lee's army in two and was about to destroy Longstreet isolated group.
Admit that Lincoln couldn't deal with the fact that someone could be so successful.
>>3227115
No, the Army of the Potomac defeated the Confederates at Antietam, despite McClellan's best efforts in doing idiotic things like attacking piecemeal and not committing his entire force.
He was relieved because quite frankly, he bungled the battle, and while he won, he could have won far more decisively, possibly even the sort that won the war right then and there. It has nothing to do with Lincoln not wanting to deal with him, except insofar as he didn't want to deal with a constant stream of delays, complaints, and calls for hundreds of thousands of men.

>paved the way for the Masterbation Proclamation.

No. You have to do something.
