You got it backwards - Rome and Pilate are divine authorities and the gospels are the work of someone with divine authority - the Jews and other Moses worshipers are sicko murdering terrorists. To someone who loves God what the Jews have written about God invokes nothing but disgust.

The gospels don't really belong in the Bible and most of the Bible doesn't belong with the gospels. But the gospels wouldn't exist without the Bible because there'd be no sicko murderer manifesto to try to dissuade people from following.
